LIPA AuctionMore touring around Liverpool. It was off to Paul's old school, now the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts, where there was a Beatles auction.

I got a silk label from the old Apple Boutique, and some material promoting a Paul McCartney album, including a Press visor.

We also found Ye Cracke, a pub frequented by The Beatles. The door was open, but a toothless old woman in a bathroom rapidly shooed us away.

Penny LaneThen it was a stroll around Penny Lane, complete with roundabout, barber shop, bank, the works. I dined there with Anna and Katie from our group, and a Liverpool friend of Katie's. While we were there, John's sister Julia popped in to use the loo, and chatted with us a bit.

Later, I went to the Beatles Story, a great museum at Albert Dock.

On to this morning, which began with a walking tour of Liverpool sites including the registry office where John & Cyn got married, the Jacaranda and the former home of NEMS.

MendipsBut the best tour yet was the National Trust tour that took us inside the home where John lived for 18 years, and the home were Paul lived for several years until the Beatles hit the big time. Chills went down my spine. I sang "Please Please Me" in the enclosed porch at John's home, Mendips. That porch works as an echo chamber, and John and Paul practiced there.
